Hello

My name is Scott Marsh and I have worked in the Jewelry and watch industry since 2004.

I have worked in all aspects of business both domestically and abroad in the Travel Retail Duty Free Industry. 

 

Over the course of my career, I have been a sales agent, a distributor, and I have also opened and managed an online retail store and a brick-and-mortar retail store in the Charlotte, North Carolina Southpark Mall.

My Story

I got started in the industry when I was hired in 2004 by the Danish Fashion Watch brand, Skagen Designs in Reno, Nevada.  I had just graduated the University of Nevada, Reno and my position at Skagen was as a Key Accounts Sales Associate.  I managed their internet, Catalog, and Big Box Discount retail accounts.  These included:  Amazon.com, Bluenile.com, Touchofmodern.com, Herrington Catalog, Hammacher Schlemmer, Sharper Image, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and others.  This is where I got my feet wet in the industry and started attending national & international trade shows with Skagen.

In 2006, I left Skagen Designs to join AGR International LLC, a sales agency group that represented Skagen Designs and other Jewelry and watch brands in the Travel Retail Duty Free Industry.  I was a Senior Sales Associate with AGR International.  Our clients included Caribbean Island retailers, Cruise ship retailers like Starboard & Princess Cruise lines, and Airport Duty free stores like Dufry and Duty Free Americas.   I worked with over 125 Duty Free retailers during this time and sold millions of dollars in products in this territory, helping develop brands, opening shop-in-shops, and concept stores in the Caribbean Islands.  I also worked onboard events with retailers on cruise ships.

Brands that I represented while working with AGR International included:  

 

Pandora Jewelry, Gabriel & Co., Skagen Designs, Shah Diamonds, Kattan Diamonds, Color Craft, Caribbean Bracelet Company, Bering Time, Chase-Durer, Uno de 50, Trollbeads, Aagaard, TX by Timex, Versace, and Ferragamo.

 

In 2013, I left AGR International and had a small stint developing a online retail store before partnering up with Obaku Limited Hong Kong.  We met at BaselWorld and after developing a business plan for Obaku Limited, I partnered up with them to set up the subsidiary office, Obaku LLC in the USA that distributes the fashion watch brand Obaku Denmark in the USA and Puerto Rico. 

 

I have sold Obaku to over 300 stores in the USA and we have been a member of the RJO, IJO, SJO and CBG buying groups.  We have exhibited at national and regional jewelry shows include:  JCK Las Vegas, JIS, AJS, Instore, Centurion, JA, Orlando Duty Free show, and Project at Magic.  We have been written up in Whose Who, JCK Magazine and Instore Magazine.

In previous years, I had set up a seasonal retail kiosk location for Obaku in the Southpark Mall here in Charlotte, North Carolina. 

 

In 2025, I had decided to diversify my business by hybridizing it as an amalgamation of both brand distribution and brand independent sales representation.  Many retailers have told me that they don't see many sales agents visiting their stores on a regular basis.  This led me to start a sales agency as it is the best way for me to utilize my efforts efficiently by representing multiple brands as an independent sales agent.  This allows us as an agency to offer multiple products to retailers in different price points, in both jewelry and watches.  It also has allowed us to go after the high end gift market and other specialty markets primarily in the Southeastern states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and Tennessee. 

I also maintain business relationships in other areas throughout the United States and hope to rekindle relationships from the past in the Travel Retail Duty Free Market in 2025 and beyond.
